“I love the orthodontic specialty because it combines visual arts with the precision and detail of dentistry, while allowing me to get to know my patients and see them through many life stages. Orthodontics provides a platform for the feeling of community, and it makes me so happy to see and meet generations over time as families return to our practice. I find joy in helping others feel heard, comfortable, and at ease when it comes to dental care and transforming their smile. I aim to not only treat patients, but to educate and engage with them, ultimately empowering patients to be involved in creating and achieving their personal treatment goals.” – Dr. Sarah Vossers
Dr. Sarah Vossers is beyond thrilled to return to her hometown of Burlington, NC, and join her dad in practice at Vossers Orthodontics. She has had her hands in the practice since 1999 - literally! Her and her brother’s handprints are imprinted in the office’s front porch. Dr. Sarah says, “It was simply meant to be!”.
A Burlington native, she attended The Burlington School, graduating as Valedictorian, and after continued her education at UNC Chapel Hill, graduating with Distinction with a BSPH in Environmental Health Sciences with minors in Chemistry and Biology.
She then earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine at East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine with Honors, finishing in the top of her class. At ECU, Dr. Sarah was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society and was recognized with the American Association of Orthodontists Award, the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Achievement Award, The Pierre Fauchard Academy Student Leadership Award, and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon William S. Kramer Award of Excellence.
Dr. Sarah completed her Master of Science and Certificate in Orthodontics at UNC Chapel Hill (just like her dad!). Throughout her training, she presented at national conferences and authored peer-reviewed research on clear aligner treatment. Most recently, she was nominated and selected for Fellowship in the American College of Dentists, a distinguished group whose goal it is to advance excellence, ethics, professionalism, and leadership in oral healthcare.
Dr. Sarah is deeply committed to delivering exceptional orthodontic care. She is extremely honored to return to Burlington and give back to the community that helped shape her.
Outside of the office, Dr. Sarah is an animal lover who spends as much time as possible with her horse, has 3 adopted kitties, and is eagerly looking forward to rescuing her first pup. She enjoys horseback riding, yoga, indoor cycling, traveling, great coffee and food (tell her about your favorite spot!), and spending quality time with friends and family.
